What Is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is  centuries-old fraternal organisation dedicated to moral development, friendship, and charitable work. It brings men together from all walks of life to learn, grow, and support one another while contributing positively to society. At its core, Freemasonry is about:

Building Character and Confidence

Freemasonry encourages personal growth by promoting integrity, self-discipline, and confidence. Members are supported in developing strong values, leadership skills, and a greater understanding of themselves, helping them grow both personally and professionally.

Learning Through Meaningful Ceremonies and Traditions

Our ceremonies and traditions are rich in history and symbolism, offering thoughtful lessons that remain relevant in modern life. These experiences provide guidance, reflection, and a deeper appreciation of Freemasonry’s timeless principles.

Making Lifelong Friendships

Ascot Lodge is built on genuine fellowship. Members form lasting friendships with like-minded men from Wokingham, Reading, and across Berkshire, enjoying social events, shared learning, and a strong sense of belonging.

Supporting Charitable Causes

Charity lies at the heart of Freemasonry. Members of Ascot Lodge actively support local and national charities through fundraising, events, and community initiatives, helping to make a positive difference where it matters most.
